Disney World

Yes, it’s true. We went on vacation to Disney World again. Yes, that is twice in one year. In our defense, my parents live in Florida and Meredith is free while she is still 2, so that is what prompted a return trip. Again, we had a great time!

Disney does have an amazing way of providing a magical experience. It is an amazing place to travel with children, not just because of Mickey and all his pals, but the services provided by the cast members the entire stay. We didn’t have to touch our luggage, didn’t have to bring a car seat, they had bed rails provided and when I called Guest Services and they heard Meredith being cranky in the background, they had me put her on the phone so she could get a special message from Goofy. I mean, who else does that? They all really want you to have a great time and their friendliness is contagious. All of the other guests are so friendly too. On a crowded bus people are giving up their seats, chatting up their neighbor, admiring their souvenirs for the day and are just plain nice.

Meredith ventured out a bit more on this trip and become a ride junkie. We rode the Goofy roller coaster pretty much every day, the teacups, the carousel, and the Dumbo Ride to name a few of the highlights.

She was excited about the roller coaster! (P.S., this squinty face you may see reappear in a few pics. We call it pirate eye because most of the time only 1 eye is closed. She thinks it is hilarious.)

After some warming up she also loved the characters and getting her autograph book filled with signatures.

The funniest thing is that she was mesmerized by the belly dancer that performed while we ate dinner in the Morocco pavilion. It definitely made an impression on her!

Other highlights for all of us were the Finding Nemo show in Animal Kingdom. It was amazing! Also, the new Toy Story ride in Hollywood Studios was so much fun. We all wanted to get off and go again, but since it is the new attraction the wait got pretty long.

And of course, I got to see my parents who joined us for most of the week, so that was fun too!

Overall it was a great trip and we did not get the flu this time, so that was a plus!
