We went with my parents, my brother, sister-in-law and two nieces. Meredith had a blast being with her cousins all week, and there were remarkable few arguments. We have learned to remove pink items, unless there are 3. It’s just easier that way.
After being on the beach we return for a dip in the pool before lunch. After lunch comes a little rest, possibly a craft and/or outing, dinner, more pool, and more beach.
Frank, Meredith, my mom and I took an excursion to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse this trip. My mom and I hadn’t been in years, Frank and Meredith had never been. We climbed to the top!
Some of us also ventured out for Pirate Putt-Putt. The girls spied it from the road with the big pirate ship and train that takes you to the top to start the game. We ended up skipping a few holes when we hit a little thunderstorm.
The ocean water was also warm. Meredith like jumping in the waves, and Frank took her out on one of the calmer days. The nieces did a little surfing. My brother was in more than out, just like when we were younger. I ventured in on a calm day, and a rough day. I decided after having to dive under 5 waves in the matter of 2-3 minutes, I’m too old for this.
We played in the sand, walked on the beach, flew kites, visited the ghost crabs at night, took outdoor showers, read books, “downloaded DS” for the girls, Dad kayaked, watched movies and basically just relaxed.
