You gotta fight, for your right, to parrr-ttaayy!

This weekend was a fun fest at our house. Frank celebrated a birthday on Saturday so we had my sister and brother and his family over for pizza and cake. Frank says he isn’t big into birthdays like me, and that’s true, so every year I feel that his birthday sort of sneaks up on me after Christmas. Then I’ve spent all of my good gift ideas on Christmas so I’m usually at a loss on what to get him. I keep convincing him that he needs to get into his birthday more if for no other reason that I will have more gift ideas and be able to throw a better party for him (no offense to my sister and brother of course). I am not the type of person that accepts the “I don’t want anything” answer or to let holidays or occasions pass by unnoticed. It’s your birthday. It will be celebrated. This year was no different and I was out just before his birthday trying to find a gift. I ended up getting him a car kit that has tools, emergency supplies etc. and a new CD. And if anyone is counting today I celebrate my ½ birthday, so 6 months to go!

On Sunday Meredith hosted a Valentine’s party at our house for her friends, which at this point basically means our friends that have kids. I made sugar cookies that the kids decorated and then we had a craft, snacks and then general play time. It was crazy- I think we had around nine 2-4 year olds and about 5 babies and their parents in the house. Meredith had a blast and I would gather that the other kids did too. There seemed to be no fights, everyone shared and little to no crying. Frank and I were just as exhausted as the kids were afterward!
