My 2 year old grown up

Meredith is really a funny little girl. It has been hard lately to write about all of the cute things she says because they are normal things people would say and they just happen in conversation. Well, normal things adults would say. It’s just hilarious to us to hear it come out of our 2 year old mouth. Here are a few examples:

While watching Mary Poppins the other night Meredith was providing running commentary. Where did Michael go? What’s Mary Poppins doing? Look at Jane! Meredith no like that guy- fast forward. Bert’s funny! She was talking over the entire movie. I was answering most of her questions, but skipping some and it was getting to be a bit much. Frank said, OK Meredith, that’s enough, watch the movie. Meredith replied, “I’m not talking to you Daddy. I’m talking to Mommy.”

Frank and Meredith have date night. I work late one evening so it is just the two of them. They typically run through McDonald’s and Meredith gets a milkshake. It has become their thing. In Frank’s unloading the car, including Meredith, the McDonald’s food and drinks and other various items that need to go in the house, he dropped her milkshake. Luckily he had ordered one as well so Meredith inherited his and didn’t really mind. However, the next week she informed Frank, “Hold the milkshake with two hands Daddy so you don’t drop it.”
