· I mentioned in a previous post how Meredith forgot over the winter how we do wear short sleeves and shorts for part of the year. She now calls this being “half-naked”. A few weeks ago we were out running errands and stopped for lunch. She saw a girl at another table with a short sleeve shirt on which was on the tighter side. It was still cool out, so most people had long sleeves on. Meredith announced loudly in the restaurant, “Look Mommy! She’s half naked!”
· Meredith has been getting more freckles on her nose and cheeks lately. She calls them “frinkles”. We now like to think of them as sprinkles for your face.
And for one of my funny moments:
Two weeks ago I came down with sinusitis. I was using over the counter medication for a few days and it wasn't helping. I was breathing through my mouth, going through boxes of tissues and could not hear well at all. Of course this was on the weekend, so I ended up going to one of the new walk in clinics at Kroger to see the nurse practitioner (NP). I told her why I was in and then she did basic health history since I had not been there before--
NP: Do you smoke?
Me: No
NP: Do you live with or are you around anyone who smokes?
Me: No
NP: Have you tried pot?
Me: No
NP: Do you know what it is?
Me: Um, yeah...
NP: I really think that it would help you. You can purchase Neti Pots right here in the store. It would probably relieve some of your discomfort.
I had heard of a neti pot, but when I realized she had asked me if I had tried a NETI pot, and not marijuana, I was retracing my answers in my head to make sure I would have answered in the same way. Luckily I had.
