Well, Frank is on me to update the blog and yeah, it’s been a while.

I have a daughter who is very into shoes. The best gift ever (thank you mom and dad) has been a play set of princess dress up shoes- specifically high heel shoes. Although she has not expressed as much, I think Meredith believes that there is no other shoe than high heel shoes. She has a mom that owns very few high heel shoes. I’m not as into shoes. Maybe because I am a size 9 ½ to 10 and have very flat feet, so shoe shopping for me is a chore, not a pleasure. It ranks with jean shopping and bathing suit shopping. Meredith is constantly telling me “Savanna’s mom wears high heels”, “Ms. Ashley wears high heels.” My reply- why in the world is a preschool teacher in a day care center wearing high heels? We must have a chat.

Weeks before Easter we were out shopping and I needed to buy Meredith a pair of white dress shoes for Easter and the coming summer months. She was thrilled. Besides being high heels it is also essential that the shoes be “clompy”, meaning they make a noise when on a hard surface floor. In the store she had to seek out the hard surface floor to be sure the shoes were clompy enough. They passed the test, enough of a ‘heel’ to be considered a high heel for a 3 year old. She wore them for the next 48 hours, although she was only allowed to wear them in the house. She still had scuffed them enough that after a week we had to put them up until Easter. Thank goodness for Mr. Clean magic eraser- gets those scuffs right out!

Easter has come and gone and Meredith had a great time. We spent Easter with my family this year and my parents were in from Florida. Here she is in her Easter finest. (Yes, her doll has a matching dress)

Other than that we have been enjoying some of the warmer weather. Meredith and I have been spending lots of time outside. We went to see the baby elephant at the zoo (real elephant not pictured-just a statue folks),

she has been riding her big wheel, another great gift (thanks Seth and Erin), pushing her bubble mower, helping plant and water flowers and swinging like a maniac. She just needs one push to get started and she is pumping away on her own and can get really high.

Frank is back into softball 3 nights a week and Meredith and I went to watch his first game last night. She loves watching, but her latest thing is she wants to play tennis. She’s, “really good at tennis”. So I’ve been trying to explain that Nintendo Wii tennis is not quite like the real thing. Luckily a few weeks ago we went to Super Saturday at Frank’s old high school- they have track and field, baseball, softball and tennis all going on at the same time. So I took Meredith over to see what real tennis was like so she could see the real deal. She really enjoyed watching. I still think we will give that a few years.
