Last week I took a little staycation and stayed home with Meredith. Meredith enrolled in a "music and motion" day camp program through a local theatre and was there for an hour all week, so I took her to the class. She loved it! The teacher has starred in and written children’s plays, was so perky, animated, loved the kids, the kids love her, and picked out some great songs that Meredith just loved.
Frank was off on Monday and Tuesday so we whooped it up around town. We hit the zoo and a new, giant playground. The rest of the week Meredith and I hit the pool for some swimming time, went to the movies, and spent the night at my parents’ for ‘camp in’. The original intent was to camp out with Meredith’s two cousins in their yard with tents, but the weather was threatening so it was moved to the basement. The weather held off as far as rain, but it was pretty hot and sticky out, so we stayed in. It essentially turned into dance party in the basement with sleeping bags and then smores outside. Meredith was pretty excited to spend the night in the spare room too, since we haven’t done that since my parents moved back to town. We also went to an outdoor production of School House Rock Live, went to COSI for our company picnic, and a birthday party for my niece. Somewhere in that week Frank and I managed to do some more painting in the new house- the hallway downstairs and up and the stairs. It should be our final painting for a while.
I've been bad about taking pictures this summer, so I'll have to bust it out more. We are planning to head to an amusement park on Monday, so I'll be sure to pack it. Meredith may be a careful little girl, but approaches roller coasters with reckless abandon, so it should be fun!
