She had a lot of fun trick-or-treating in the new neighborhood! It ended up being a chilly night, and many neighbors had their fire pits in the driveway. I just find trick-or-treat night to be so fun and neighborly. Everyone is out at the same time and purely for fun! Meredith went around with kids from the neighborhood, and her new neighbor friend who lives behind us.
The next big event at our house was Meredith’s 5th birthday! I cannot believe that she is 5 already. Meredith is a wonderful, fun, silly, smart, and entertaining girl! She had a party with all of her family which was unseasonably warm for November, and we were able to have her cake outside! This year’s party was a Hannah Montana theme, so I made microphone cupcakes (which are cupcakes in an ice cream cone, with silver sprinkles on top).
After her birthday and Thanksgiving, we went on vacation for a week to Disney World! Meredith has been anticipating the trip for months! We went with Frank’s brother George, sister-in-law Margaret, our nephews and niece, Joseph, Thomas, and Mary Jane, Frank’s sister, and Margaret’s sister and mom. We had a great time!
Some of the highlights were taking Meredith to the Bibbity Bobbity Botique where her fairy godmother did her hair, make-up and nails. She was dressed up as Princess Belle and looked adorable. That was the gift that kept giving, as there is still glitter stuck in her scalp!
Frank also received his Christmas gift from me while we were there- a ride along in a NASCAR race car at the Disney Motor Speedway! He got to ride along for 3 laps, and up to 140 mph!
We went to the Very Merry Christmas party, which was really neat. It was in the evening, and our attempts at taking it easy that morning didn’t quite work. She was exhausted!
One evening we ventured to the Hoop Dee Do Review show, which the whole family enjoyed. It was very cute and funny- for both the adults and kids.
We wrapped up the week at the Grand Floridian looking at the giant gingerbread house they make each year.
It was a very fun vacation, and hopefully made lasting memories for the whole family.
