Show Time!

The glasses adjustment has been going great for Meredith! She’s not once asked to take them off during the day, keeps them on her face, and is careful with them. I’m so curious to know her vision before and after. I keep asking her if she can see things better and she just looks at me like I’m crazy. The one thing she does keep saying is “the ground is so high up”. I’m guessing that maybe her feet and/or the ground were blurry to her before, and now they aren’t. I’ll let you know when soccer season rolls around!

Recently we attended two fun outings- one to see BalletMet’s production of Cinderella. Meredith really enjoyed it, and since she takes dance classes through them they teach the kids some of the dances. We were pretty high up with our seats, and my niece said “it was the best movie she’s ever seen”!

All dressed up for the ballet

Meredith and I also had an outing to see Laurie Berkner perform in concert. I, I mean, Meredith has been a fan since she was little. The concert was good, and Meredith had fun listening and dancing around. They said to bring party hats and animals for our heads- Meredith brought her party tiara.  I had a chicken on my head, and I kept it there all day.

Laurie Berkner!

OH, I totally know what Meredith means about the ground being so high up now! I fully remember that when I got my first glasses (I was 5.), I thought I had to step way up on stairs [that weren't there] to walk! Something about the way they change your perspective tricks your eyes into making it look like the ground is higher up at first! I remember my mom laughing at me trying to take a step up high and nearly falling down! So funny! I hope Meredith has an easy adjustment to her new specs! :)
