Back to life. Back to reality.

I’m officially finished with my Master’s degree program. Woo Hoo! Grades are submitted and now I wait until commencement on Mother’s Day to get the official paper. It still hasn’t really sunk in that I’m done. The time fills up pretty quickly, even if it right now it is with reality TV! Maybe I’ll keep up with the blog more now that I’m done. Maybe that’s wishful thinking…

I am so thankful to have such supportive family and friends. Most important, a supportive husband who encouraged me to continue my education, and who stepped in to pick up additional work around the house, as well as having a Wednesday night ‘date night’ with Meredith while I was in class. Plus, additional weekend outings with her to give me a few hours to get homework done. And, putting up with my nerdiness and angst over my assignments, quizzes and grades.

Meredith went to kindergarten round-up at her elementary school last week and is love. She keeps asking to go back. I hope that excitement continues throughout the summer! The school is great. I was very impressed, felt very comfortable, and excited about the whole experience for us all.

Meredith is back to playing soccer this spring. She’s only had a few practices so far and games start in a few weeks. We are back with the same team and same coach, so her tentativeness was short lived when we started back up and after only a minute of apprehension, she jumped right in. She continues on in ballet/dance classes weekly as well, and loves that.

Now we are headed into spring and what really feels like an ending and beginning of a chapter in our lives in a way. I’m done with grad school, and this is the last summer of freedom before we enter the world of having a school ager. I’m excited and a little melancholy that my little girl is off to school in the fall. It makes the past 5 years seem to have flown by, and makes me feel like the next 13 are going to zoom too until she graduates as the class of 2024! So I’m planning to soak it all in the summer and enjoy every minute.
