Fall Fun

Having a school age child is a whole new world! I feel like we have been on a roller coaster with tons of stuff going on during school (which means a bunch of little things to remember the night before), and something pretty much every night after school and every weekend. I made a conscious effort to clear the calendar this week so we could regroup a little bit.

Frank was out of town twice during late September to October. He went to Poland for work, and I am totally jealous! He had a good trip for his first venture out of the country. He also had a conference when he got back, so Meredith and I were flying solo for a couple of weeks.

During all of the craziness we managed to have some fall fun too!

Meredith and I went with Jenny to the Apple Butter Festival at a camp about 45 minutes north of Columbus. We had a great time with crafts, yummy food, and hay rides.

We joined one of our ballet friends at the Halloween party thrown in our city. There are crafts, activities, and of course, candy to be had.

We went to the Pumpkin Hunt that our Parks and Rec department puts on where we met up with the ballet friends, found pumpkins, made crafts and scarecrows, and ate some candy too! It was a beautiful, sunny day and we all brought lunch along too, which unfortunately the bees were enjoying as much as we were.

We also attended the Halloween party at church, I helped with her class party, and she had a party with her Daisy troop. Shew!

Somewhere in there we managed to carve our pumpkin. We made it look like Meredith this year, since she sort of has a jack-o-lantern smile going on with all of her missing teeth! (She’s lost 8 now)

Trick-or-Treat night we also gathered with the ballet families, had a yummy, fun dinner, and then hit the neighborhood. Meredith dressed up as Belle this year. She had “Lincoln Lion” with her, which is her class mascot that each of the kids get a turn to take home for the weekend. We then write a story about what Lincoln did at our house the weekend. We had Lincoln dress up as Beast with Meredith.

Meredith had a blast this trick-or-treat! This is the first year that she wasn’t as shy about saying trick-or-treat and thank you, and she was running from house to house!

Now we are in November, or as Meredith will remind you, her birthday month! We had Meredith's first friends party yesterday, which I'll post about next.  It was crazy fun!
