Wow, we had such a mild winter! We didn’t even get to bust out any play in the snow days this year. I, personally, don’t mind- come on warmth!
Meredith had spring break two weeks ago. We are still adjusting to now being slaves to the school year schedule. Frank was out of town last week for work, so we knew we couldn’t take the whole week to go somewhere. Our main agenda- relaxing and fun!
Meredith’s request for the week was to spend the night at her grandparents’ house (my parents). This deal was sweetened with the addition of her 2 cousins for a splendid sleepover. They had a tent up in the garage, we roasted marshmallows on the campfire, went shopping, out to lunch, and to a playground. It wore me out!
Then we had a good old fashioned “Mommy Day” as Meredith calls it. We used to have Mondays and Tuesdays off together before school, so this was reminiscent of those pre-Kindergarten festivities. We did one of our ‘usuals’- off to the zoo! We have such a great local zoo! We checked in on the growth of the baby elephant and the new polar bear inhabitants.
She's grown a bit since this visit!
Frank planned an outing for us Wednesday to Thursday. We ventured to the Great Wolf Lodge indoor water park. So. Much. Fun! We had a great time. I was really pleased with the overall lodge- our room was clean, spacious, and nice, they had other activities with wands and story times besides the very long water park hours. Meredith hit all of the kids’ slides, Frank and I took turns on the adult slides, and although she cried about it the whole way there, we all loved the family raft slide!
Friday we relaxed at home most of the morning then headed out to Build A Bear where Meredith made an adorable and loveable Kermit the Frog. We also were on a quest for white dress shoes for her for Easter.
Saturday Frank took off and Meredith and I hit the movies to see Mirror Mirror. The costumes were amazing! Sunday we went to church then hung around home with a walk and trip to our neighborhood park.
It was a great spring break week. Even though I think Meredith and I are now a bit tired of each other, it was still fun!
