Sum, Sum, Summertime

I love summer. I love being able to walk out the door without a coat or even shoes sometimes and not have to worry about bundling up. I love that it stays light so late in the evening. I love the fresh produce. I love grilling out and picnics, going to the pool and fireflies. I love that kids don't have school because it reminds me too of those wonderful carefree summer days.

Meredith is really getting into the joys of summer as well. Here she is, in her "Elmo suit", which she now calls all bathing suits, getting ready to head to the pool.

Running through the bubbles. Gotta love that bubble maker!

Eating a Frosty.

Okay, and a popsicle. Not in the same day though. Typically.

(BTW, that is our new kitchen floor in the background!)

Eating a peach.

And finally, swinging. Her favorite. I am dreading when it is too cold to go outside to swing since we currently make 2 trips a day to the park in our neighborhood and sometimes also hit the backyard swing.

This past weekend we also went to the zoo. I am the events coordinator at the place where Frank and I work so I was in charge of the shindig that ended up being for around 430 people. Frank was in charge of the camera, so the only picture I got was the one I took after she completely zonked-- she was only about 3 hours late for her nap!

OH, she is SO cute! 1) I love the kitchen floor. 2) Popsicles and a Frosty in the same day is TOTALLY acceptable. Especially if it means a little more peace for Mommy during the day. 3) Lanie is a lover of peaches, as well. ...And popsicles and Frosties, too! =)
