Catching Up

I haven’t really written about what we have been doing in the past 2 weeks, so I thought I would catch up this week.

Two weekends ago Frank went home for a golf tournament, so Meredith’s Godmother Jenny joined Meredith and me for one of my favorite fall activities- apple and pumpkin picking. Unfortunately the apple crop was damaged by a spring frost so there haven’t been as many picking weekends available. However, we had a fun and it was a wonderful, sunny, yet somewhat cool, autumn day. I love this activity and could really do it almost every weekend!

This past weekend Meredith and I went to the Homecoming at the college I graduated from. Frank was off golfing again so we joined up with Jenny again. They have a tailgate party and tons of activities for the kids. Pretty much every student organization has a table with a craft or activities for kids to do. It was really nice! Before we left Meredith was playing with Jenny’s cat and was pretty leery of it. She did touch it once, but other than that kept her distance. We went to Homecoming and she went right up to touch a snake and some lizards. Go figure!

We also baked cookies together! I have been learning to cook with one hand while holding a toddler, because Meredith wants to see everything I am doing in the kitchen. I decided she would enjoy making cut out cookies. She had a blast! She helped mix the dough, rolled it out with her own little mat and rolling pin, cut it with the owl cookie cutter, “peek-a-booed” it while it was baking and helped to frost and of course, add sprinkles!
