Florida

Two weekends ago we were in Florida for a big weekend celebration of my dad’s 35 years in the ministry. Yes, for those who don’t know, I am a PK. There were many folks who made the trip to my dad’s current church to help celebrate and it was a weekend filled with fun, food, celebration and sunsets on the beach. You can’t beat that!

Meredith was a trooper through the whole thing with all of the people and many planned activities. She had tons of fun with Uncle Seth and Aunt Erica as well as Mana and Poppi. She got to dip in the pool, play on the beach and swam in the ocean with us too.

As a side note, my brother, sister and I got a really fun gift for my dad. It is called a voice quilt and basically it allows people to call in and leave a message for my dad. We then compile the messages and he gets them on CD. We contacted all sorts of people from past churches and did our best to spread the net wide and we got some wonderful and funny messages. Thanks to all of you that read this that called in! Now that the quilt is done, I am not sure what my sister and I are going to do! We have been obsessively checking the website for new messages, called each other every night, maybe twice a night, to see who called in! It was so fun to hear the message and voices of people we have known for a long time.
