Memorial Day in the Nation's Capital

I'm in DC this week for work and I will say being in the Nation's Capital on Memorial Day was nice. I checked into my conference and wandered down around the National Mall which was a hub-bub of activity with a parade and people all about. The weather was warm and sunny, in the high 70's / low 80's. I walked around the White House and Washington Monument. This morning I went on a tour of the White House. It is gorgeous! I also went to the Holocaust Museum which was quite a moving experience. Then the conference officially started so my time as a tourist in DC has ended.
Frank is Mr. Mom this week. From what he has said Meredith has been pretty good so far. This is the longest I will have been away from her since her birth. I'm enjoying the "me" time right now, but I imagine by tomorrow night I'll be ready to head back home!
