As you can see from the previous post, Frank and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. I can't believe it has been that long already! To celebrate we decided to go to dinner and a movie. We had a gift certificate to The Cheesecake Factory that we haven't used that we got last year for our anniversary. That there should tell you something. We don't go out much.
We don't really have a solid reason, but a bunch of little things. Frank is still a little fearful of leaving Meredith at night. We have each been gone on our own excursions on several occasions, but we have only been out together probably 4 times now since she was born. I know, it's pathetic! We do have some wonderful people who have agreed to babysit for us, but I don't know why it seems that asking someone to babysit, even family and close friends, feels like you are asking them to help you move. and you just moved last month. and you own a piano and several large cumbersome pieces of furniture. that are antiques. and you personally can't do any heavy lifting.
Well, I was pretty determined that we were going to go out for our anniversary, so my sister Erica agreed to babysit. Meredith lights up when Aunt Erica comes over to visit, so she was very excited to have her come over and play. As we were acclimating Erica to things that we don't normally have to show her in the house (like where 'kitty' is in case she gets a boo boo, which is a Hello Kitty ice pack) I swore I heard tornado sirens. Knowing that we don't leave Meredith too often, my sister thought I was being totally paranoid. She and Frank thought it was a leaf blower. Much to my dismay, it was tornado sirens! We headed to play in the basement and watch the weather channel down there.
An hour and a half later Frank and I finally headed out the door. The Cheesecake Factory was delicious! We skipped the movie since we got a late start and did a little shopping. Five years later I still think I am a pretty lucky girl!
